Hola Beautiful
Every since we got the girls I have been saying "hola beautiful" whenever I see one of them. Usually when I say something in English to them, they just look at me with those big eyes. This morning when I came out of the bathroom, Kathrine was sitting on the floor playing with Polly Pockets. Since there is only a small path through the room to our closet I had to step over Kathrine and all her dolls. I was trying to figure out what I was going to wear when I heard a little "hola beautiful" from Kathrine. They are so precious.

Novelties
A couple novelties we have noticed with the girls...
1. Flip Flops- they have no idea how to walk in them!
2. Gum-we realized they were eating it so we show them how to actually chew gum
3. Warm water- both washing hands and the shower. The hotel brought us a little baby tub since we only have a shower, tonight they both got in and played in it for about an hour. They kept saying caliente (warm)
4. New socks- they look surprised every morning when we get out clean socks
5. Computer- (The French girls taught them how to play a simple computer game, they loved it)
6. Dora DVD's (It actually taught them to count to 10 in English yesterday)
7. Pop- Tatiana's eyes got huge the first time we gave her a drink, then she giggled like crazy and rubbed her chest.
They have been so much fun, we are seeing much more of their personalities come out as the days go by. Kathrine is happy all the time. Tatiana has her ups and downs, this morning she had those sad eyes again which make me cry, but she never does, but about an hour later she was playing and giggling. Sorry about the one picture, I could not read the Spanish on our computer to rotate the picture, just turn your head. :)

Dos Ninas
Spending an entire day with the girls is awesome. They are so happy. I keep telling the people who we are hanging out with (two French families) that once there is a meltdown it will probably be major.
We got out crayons and coloring books tonight and they were entertained for about two hours. Kathrine talks to herself while coloring, so far she seems really easy going. This morning at the park she kept repeating something to me over and over and when a Colombian lady came over to me and said the same thing to me, and I looked confused the Colombian lady added el bano to the end of the sentence and I got it. Although Kathrine had told me over and over that she had to go to the bathroom, and I didn't move, she still laughed and giggled on the way to the bathroom.
We went out to eat with the French families and they served popcorn before the meal. It was then that we found that Tatiana takes after her grandpa Miller with the way she eats popcorn.

Tatiana and Kathrine
In almost twenty-four hours we have learned a lot about our daughters.
1. They are both beautiful
2. They both like to sing (they entertained everyone at the hotel last evening with their songs)
3. They both have contagious laughs
4. They eat very fast.
Tatiana
1. She pumps her head up and down a lot when she is tring to make a point
2. The first English word she has said to us is jungle (she thinks it is a funny word)
3. She will correct our Spanish until we say it just right.
4. She loved her shower in the morning
5. She is very ticklish
6. She hardly slept at all last night, she just laid there with big eyes (which broke my heart)
Kathrine
1. She will talk to us in spanish whether we understand or not
2. She relies on her sister
3. She can say cow in English
4. She loves to cuddle
5. She slept for the entire night, she actually snored a little bit
6. She will copy anything that I draw on the magnadoodle
They are wonderful. I am a little concerned, because we have had no tears at all.

Pasto
We got to fly to Pasto today. From what I can gather, there is only one flight into the region of Narino each day. The flight was beautiful but a little nerve racking. We really landed on a cliff. I happened to be sitting on the side of the plane where I could see the drop off. It was really pretty. We flew past an active volcano and we could have seen it if we could have understood spanish. By the time we knew what they were talking about, we were past the volcano. After we landed we traveled on a long, twisty road to Pasto. It is a city in the middle of nowhere of about 400,000 people. The drive here was really interesting, most of the places we passed were simple shacks built into a cliff. The drive was about 45 minutes and the cab driver charged us about $14.00. The place we are staying at has three other families that have also adopted. They are all French. It made for a very interesting supper. They knew a little English, and we both knew a little Spanish, so that is how we communicated for the evening. We are meeting the girls tomorrow at 2:30.
